Do you ever have one of those times when you get a phone
call and you wish you could instantly be somewhere else? Yesterday afternoon while I was in Walmart
getting a few things before heading to the first of two meeting I had, I got a
phone call from the nurse at Bryce and Annalise's school. She told me that Bryce had what she believed was
a seizure. It had lasted approximately 1
minute and 30 seconds. It was different
then any they had ever seen in Bryce. We
have only ever seen possible silent seizures that last a few seconds. The nurse said that he was now fine and that
there was no need for me to pick him up right away, but I could if I wanted
to. Oh how I wanted to! I wanted to be there that second holding my
son. Since my meetings were close to the
school and then at the school and she assured me over and over that he was
fine, I paid for my items, headed out to my van, had a quick cry, quickly pulled myself together
and headed off to the meetings. I made
it through them, but I have to be honest, my mind was somewhere else during
those meetings and I was relieved when that moment came that it was time to
pick Bryce up from his class. I am
relieved that he has such great teachers and a nurse at his school that are
watching and aware of what is going on.
I am thankful that I get to spend all day today with my son.
